Key takeaways

• The 2022 GMC Terrain has a $250 deposit.
• The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer has a $250 deposit.
• The deposit is a hold on your card, kept apart from the rental total.
• The booking page shows the full terms for the car you choose.

How much is the deposit on each car?

Each car in our fleet has its own deposit figure. Here is what the booking checkout applies to each one for a car rental in Escondido.

• 2022 GMC Terrain: $250 deposit
• 2022 Jeep Wagoneer: $250 deposit

The deposit is a hold on your card. It is separate from the rental total you pay for your days on the road. Both cars list the same deposit today, so the choice between them comes down to the daily rate and the kind of trip you have planned.

The white 2022 GMC Terrain includes 200 miles per day. Past that, extra miles are billed at $0.25 each. The white 2022 Jeep Wagoneer also includes 200 miles per day, with overage at $0.25 per mile.

How does the deposit compare with the daily rate?

The deposit is a separate hold on your card, and it sits well above the daily rate on both cars. The 2022 GMC Terrain is $89 a day with a $250 deposit. The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer is $119 a day with a $250 deposit.

That means the deposit does not change with the car's daily rate here. If you choose the Wagoneer for its lower daily rate, you still see the same deposit figure at checkout.

For a quick example, three days in the Terrain is three days at $89 a day, with 200 miles included each day. The deposit is held on your card in addition to that rental total. For more on pricing across the fleet, see Car Rental Prices in Escondido, CA Compared.

The deposit is a hold on your card, separate from the rental total. The booking page shows the full terms for the chosen car, so read them there before you confirm. Pickup and delivery details are also confirmed on the booking page.
